emergency chemical toilet
So, I'm without positive water pressure. The upside is there's a swimming pool down the street. The down side for those of feint heart, stop here, is that I need to, as the saying goes, take a dump. I've got the water in the toilet, and the water in the tank. I don't know when this will be repaired as it's 9:30pm and maybe the crews will work all night, maybe they won't. Who's John Galt?
So I, being resourceful looked for an emergency option for a chemical toilet that would hold me through, at least for awhile without the entire house stinking. Toilet bowl cleaner was my first thought, however it's fairly thin once it's in contact with water, so I gave up on this and went to the kitchen sink. AHA! says I, a bottle of lemon lysol. This stuff is strong, it's anti-biotic, anti-bacterial, and anti-microbial, so it should pretty much kill anything that causes smell. I apply it twice, once directly to the water to coat everything, and once to the bowl to flow down and cover the surface (hoping this will hopefully keep a rather unpleasant smell down.)
Obviously I'm wishing I had either of the following
1. water purification system
2. lots of barrels of water and a bit of bleach.
Alas I have neither.
